Our Normal Adoption Fees

• $150 for Dogs

• $200 for Puppies

• $80 for Senior Dogs (age 7+)

• $30 for Cats and Kittens

 

This fee includes:

• Spaying and neutering as needed

• First vaccinations (in some cases, other vaccinations will be included if the animal has been with us for long enough to get 2nd and final vaccinations.)

• Puppies and kittens may require additional vaccinations

• Bordatella for kennel cough

• Deworming medication as needed

• Microchips for dogs

• Flea control as needed

• General health and behavior screening

 

Sponsored Animals - Please note we often have sponsored animals which means that all or a portion of the animal's adoption fee may be paid for by a generous supporter of our shelter.  This can vary from animal to animal.  If you are interested in sponsoring a pet, you may contact the shelter to speak with our staff or do so online via Directed Giving.

 

Other Fees

Heartworm Test – Dogs Only - $30

You may elect to have us do a heartworm test on your dog prior to you taking them home. The cost is $30 and will also be paid at the time you sign your contract and pay your adoption fee.

 

Microchipping 

All dog adoptions include a microchip in the adoption fee. Cats can be microchipped for an additional $5. Any reclaimed dog or cat can be microchipped for $5.

 

Wood County Dog License – Wood County Resident Dogs Only

If you live in Wood County it is required that you have a dog license for your dog at a cost of $6 for Vienna and Williamstown residents and $3 for all other county residents. You may purchase this license from the Shelter or at the County Courthouse.

 

Feline Leukemia/FIV Combo Test  - Cats Only - $25

You may elect to have us do a feline leukemia/FIV test on your cat prior to you taking them home. The cost is $25 and will also be paid at the time you sign your contract and pay your adoption fee.
