Somebody here needs help... Needs a home... Needs you
Thank you for visiting our 'special needs' section designed specifically to showcase our adoptable animals who may have a variety of special needs. See our current Special Guest Bio, who is waiting for help and a home. We're looking for homes for these animals that have limitless love to give but may face some challenges. These wonderful companion animals are eagerly a waiting adoption but throughout their life may require some additional time, understanding, finances and commitment.
Perhaps you have a special place in your home and heart for a special needs HSOP dog or cat? Or perhaps you have a special place in your heart to make donation to the HSOP Special Needs fund to help our special needs animals receive the care that without such help, we would not be able to provide. Please Donate.
Our HSOP Special Needs Fund helps pay for veterinary and/or medical treatment for the needs of animals rescued. Helping these homeless animals is an important part of our work. However, the expense of such treatment can at times be cost prohibitive, we know that with support through adoption and donation, these Special Guests can have wonderful lives.
Saving one animal may not change the world, but surely the world will change for that one animal. --- Author unknown
New Special Guest - "Wringles"
Wringles is a young Shar Pei and Beagle mix puppy that needs your help. She has all kinds of eye problems (common with Shar Pei's actually) including two cherry eyes, which is not a big deal but she also has a problem that causes both of her eyelids to turn inward toward the eye. This is called Entropion. Wringles is so sweet but her eye problems have left her slightly uncomfortable as her eyes are sore and itchy. She also had some skin problems when she first arrived at our shelter but that is much better now. Wringles is currently in a foster home getting extra attention and special care and her foster mom says she is VERY sweet and despite all her problems is a wonderful foster puppy.
The Vet tells us that the cost to fix all her eye problems is only $400.
Update on Rifleman: Rifleman is doing SO much better. While he is still in his foster home, he has completed both his Heartworm treatments and has put on a good deal of weight. He looks and feels so great now and can't stay out of the babypool his foster mom has setup especially for him. He is very energetic and loves playing ball -- especially in the pool. Thanks to all that helped fund his treatments and allow us to help him become the healthy funloving dog he is today!
