Other Gift Options
The Humane Society of Parkersburg wants to remind you of some other gift options. Gifts to the HSOP not only provide greatly needed support to our communities animal shelter, but are also tax-deductible since we are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
GIFTS OF STOCK: We love these! Sometimes more beneficial to donors than a direct cash gift. A donor can avoid capital gains tax on the appreciation of their securities while also letting the donor deduct the full fair market value of the stocks or bonds for income tax purposes.
GIFTS OF REAL ESTATE: Similar to the tax savings that stocks and bonds provide, a gift of real estate is another good option and can be made immediately or in a will.
LIFE INCOME GIFTS: The donor can benefit from an annual source of income in addition to the tax savings. Consider charitable gift annuities, lead trusts, remainder trusts, etc.
GIVING THROUGH YOUR WILL: A very special way to continue your memory is a perpetual gift to the Humane Society of Parkersburg. A bequest in a will is not subject to estate taxes. The provisions in your Will for a gift will depend upon the type of gift and your own circumstances.
The wording in these sample provisions may prove helpful to your attorney.
Specific Bequest
