Fees

Standard Adoption fees are:

$20 unaltered cat or 2 kittens from the same litter (You will pay the vet for the spay/neuter)
$25 altered cat or 2 kittens from the same litter
$30 unaltered dog (You will pay the vet for the spay/neuter)
$35 altered dog

This fee includes:

• First vaccinations (in some cases, other vaccinations will be included if the puppy or kitten has been with us for long enough to get 2nd and final vaccinations.)
• Pets will have been vaccinated for many diseases. Puppies and kittens may need additional vaccinations.
• Bordatella for kennel cough
• Deworming medication as needed
• Flea control as needed
• General health and behavior screening
• Free bag of Science Diet pet food
• Free vet screening at VCA of Parkersburg

Other fees

Spay and neuter costs, if your pet is not already altered, will be paid to the vet performing the spay/neuter procedure. You will need to be prepared to pay these costs when you pick up your new pet at the vet. Costs will depend on the vet, type of animal (cat or dog), size of animal, etc.

Dog Adopters

Heartworm Test

You may elect to have us do a heartworm test on your dog prior to you taking them home. The cost is $25 and will also be paid at the time you sign your contract and pay your adoption fee.

Wood County Dog License

If you live in Wood county it is required that you have a dog license for your dog at a cost of $12 for City residents and $6 for county residents. You may purchase this license from the Shelter or at the County Courthouse.

Cat Adopters

Combo Test

You may elect to have us do a feline leukemia/FIV test on your cat prior to you taking them home. The cost is $25 and will also be paid at the time you sign your contract and pay your adoption fee.
